Bill: Bill to Redress a Democratic Imbalance

Details

Submitted by[?]: Luthori Tory Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3327

Description[?]:

Whereas our Predecessors in leading the Luthori Chrestian Tory Party did enact Proposals such that the interval between Democratic Elections was Extended, in belief of Justification through a State of Dire Emergency, we, their Successors, do charge that such measures do no longer suit the moment, and do Unjustly Impede the Voice of the People in the Government of this Nation, which Voice is surely the guiding Principle of Just Governance.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Again, the Tories believe it is one rule for them and another for everyone else. They had years of themselves having majorities to propose this, but they only do so when they're a minuscule party outside of government.

They are sheerly desperate to get back into power. We all know what they would do to the term limit if they got back into power if we accepted this proposal.

An utter disgrace.

I yield.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The Tory governments had no need of regular elections - we were voted in by massive electoral turnouts, unlike the Commonwealth Party junta.

I yield hte floor.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We were democratically elected.

Once more the Tories make falsehoods against us. We are not a junta.

Furthermore, as we are on the issue of democracy, we believe that it should be the people of Luthori that determine Luthori's future, not foreign governments. We have been contacted by several governments to inform us that the Tory party has been in contact with them to denounce my government and to support the Monarchist movement. External influence in our internal affairs is most undemocratic.

I yield.
