Message | Mr. Speaker, Besides the treasonous nature of this bill, these articles go completely against the philosophical principle of wu wei, or let it be. This sort of economic policy has worked for hundreds of years in Indrala. Why change tradition and move towards an ideology that is convoluted and makes little to no sense? You are lucky that His Imperial Majesty is benevolent and kind to allow your actions to slip by. I yield. |

Message | OOC: Since this is more a manifesto, I'm not sure there would be a parliamentary debate on this, especially since my party has no seats. Also, I think the government would do well to oppose such seditious talk, maybe by banning heterodox sects. Anyway, IC: Mr. Speaker, We can see here how hypocritical the Xinhan minions are. They use education as a criterion for government, and impose their own tao on the population, and thus go against the very principle of wu wei they clamor. We, on the other hand, believe in compassion, and in helping all sentient beings towards liberation and enlightenment. Inaction harms as much as malicious action, so we shall fight wu wei as we will fight Jienism, monarchy, and any tradition that goes against the well being of the Gao-Showan workers. We yield. |

Message | OOC: I haven't debated a bill in months. I see it more as the government explaining why such a manifesto is bad, taking the higher road that Jienism would prescribe. IC: Mr. Speaker, Education as a criteria for government is one of the best governmental decisions ever made. A meritocracy allows all people to work their way up into the upper echelons of society, as well as ensuring that the state is managed by people who know what they are doing. The will of the Jien-Imperial Party is never imposed, but demanded by the people. Look at the past elections and see how much they support us. Compassion is a very noble virtue, one that we support. However, we understand that should the government promote compassion in the wrong way, it will destroy the state and social stability for all. It is unfortunate that Daenists, who follow a religion that makes little to no sense, feel the need to impose their will on all the people of Indrala, when most are Jienists themselves! Our traditions were established long before your ilk arrived hundreds of years ago from Aldegar. Why don't you apply for autonomous status? You will have much better luck. I yield. |

Message | OOC: Well, you are addressing the Speaker, which happens in parliamentary debates. BTW, if you want to direct remarks at the other party, you wouldn't use the second person (you), since you are addressing the speaker, not the other party. IC: Mr. Speaker, It was not our point to criticize imperial examinations, but merely to point out that attempting to improve on human nature by the means of education goes against the principle of wu wei, acting effortlessly without the explicit knowledge of acting. The government further shows its ignorance towards the very traditions they claim to follow when they consider the Gao-Soton tradition of Jienism to be older and more native than our own Chen, which was created in Indrala. They seem to also ignore the true nature of the Rebellion. We are not trying to impose a Daenic theocracy in Indrala, no matter how necessary that may be. We instead fight for justice, compassion, and equality, and for the destruction of the dynasty that has thrice lost the Mandate of Heaven. We must also reply that, no matter how noble or educated the Xinhan think their actions to be, the fact that they tolerate the very worst of social injustices in the name of social stability makes them odious enemies of the people they claim to lead. It is our duty to do all in our power to remove them from power. We do not want autonomy or whatever symbolic religious privilege the Xinhan are willing to grant us to keep us quiet and content; we want their utter destruction. We yield. |
