Bill: Economic Stimulus Package

Details

Submitted by[?]: Vigs Partija ('Whigs')

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 3329

Description[?]:

These measures will help enhance competition, and consumer power in the wider economy.

Article 1 is simply put a tax-cut designed to help businesses generate growth and employment.

Article 2 is an attempt to deregulate the energy market while also ensuring those on lowest incomes continue to secure access to energy. We believe the introduction of subsidies for those on low incomes will ensure the deregulated energy market will not exploit, but aid them in securing the best possible value for money.

MessageNo, we need to have fair energy prices. This is one rule for the poor and one rule for the rest of us. We will abstain. We need to regulate energy companies so that we know what is going on.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.

Random quote: "It is obvious that the laissez-faire ideology represents the interests of big business. For decades, the right-wing has opposed welfare programs and nationalised companies, in favour of big business disguised under 'economic liberty'." - Cecilia Xu, former Gaduri politician
