MessageSome convinced religious people dislike gambling, and some people beleive that gambling encourages other, more illegal forms of self-expression, like prostitution, gang warfare, drugs, etc.

I think I have a proposal that would satisfy both haters of gambling and lovers of gambling. We leave the matter to the local governments. That would allow regions who dislike gambling to outlaw it, and regions who like gambling to allow it with no restrictions. Citizens in outlawed regions could simply go to the nearest betting region to gamble their hearts out.

Plus, it would make us more "Small-government" ish, which would boost our rating in the view of the people.
Any opinions? Comments?

MessageI completely disagree with the concept of Soviets; I'd rather vote for banning gambling.

MessageThen why not vote for this now, then propose the banning of gambling? It could turn out to be a win-win situation.

MessageGambling once was banned, but the National Farmers' Party legalised it. I merely saying I'd rather vote for banning gambling than creating more powers to Soviets.

MessageSurely, it's up to the individual if they gamble or not; why should the government be involved? Gambling doesn't break up families, but the gambler does. If a parent would gamble and endanger the state of his/her family, then it just shows how little commitment/respect the parent gives the family; overall, even if gambling was illegal, since the parent has so little commitment/respect/concern for the family, it'll weaken anyway with divorce most likely resulting.

MessageStill, the gambler's children will be much more likley to end up gambling as well, if that's what they grew up with. Gambleing most definitely affects Family Values.

MessageA good reason to introduce parent testing, before they're allowed to have children.

MessageThat is completely ridiculous to test parents, it's inhibiting nature.

MessageAnd it would make it very easy to abuse that system to make it so only people the government wanted could have children. I beleive that would be way too much control over our people.
