| Message | Mr. Speaker, The OCPS was duly elected to repeal the reigning permissiveness about homosexuals. It is unacceptable that the wishes of Rutanians, expressed legitimately, should be scotched by treaties signed at a different period of Rutanian history. This frenzy with locking Rutania to the preferred legislation of a few obsolete parties via international treaty is criminal. Using treaties this way is akin to yanking Rutania into a dictatorship of sorts. Repeal this treaty - it is a violation of Rutanian sovereignty. Let Rutanians decide through elections whether they wish for comprehensive gay rights. Let not the vitriol of ideology compel one to support crimes against democracy as this treaty, and all other treaties like it, is. Do not condone trapping the Rutanian Parliament with the preferences of obsolete parties who once may have held wide influence, but now their time has gone, and Rutanians are pushing for change. Repeal this treaty and allow current laws to be challenged by the representatives who were put in office to do just that. |
