MessageI disagree with the proposal to make the contents of this treaty a constitutionally binding law. I urge the members of this chamber to vote against this, or abstain if they are concerned about threats from the Karav Dynasty.

- Victoria Barbossa, Head of the House of Barbossa

OOC: I really dislike treaties like this, to me it just means that it is more difficult to propose laws in reality. It isn't in the spirit of debate.

MessageLady Victoria, you are not bulletproof.

Secretary of Karav Manor

OOC: no, this treaty doesn't lock any laws based on ideological debate. It's just to keep the system in-tact.

I hate treaties as well. I withdrew from a treaty allowing nations to guarantee abortion, because I expected anti-abortion players to debate the topic. The variables in the treaty in this bill aren't worth debate - they're just about the system. If players change those laws, the rest of the system doesn't add up.

MessageI thank the representative of the Karav Dynasty for his reminder of the the fact that I am not bulletproof.

OOC: I don't see why Article 3 is required... I would happily endorse otherwise

Article 3

The ratifiers acknowledge that with respect to:

The nation's policy on the separation of the police and the military

The policy of their national government and law should be:

The military acts as a de-facto police force, with powers of arrest.

MessageOOC: It's the whole idea of "special police"
Beluzia is very militarized, to keep the system simple.

MessageOOC: I still oppose the idea that this should be bound by a 2/3 majority. All the rest was fine. Its too right wing for my party to accept sadly. Still, it gives scope for RP I suppose - we'll be the freedom fighters ;)

MessageOOC: It has nothing to do with freedom. It's just a cultural addition to the system. I'm a Leftist. It's not something worth debating every second and changing every second so that we have to restructure EVERYTHING every second - unless you're willing to stay online to do all that every time the law on police or military changes. I'm trying to keep it to one thing so I don't have to twist every formula I have that calculates stuff.

Random fact: Real-life organisations should not be referenced in Particracy, unless they are simple and generic (eg. "National Organisation for Women" is allowed).

Random quote: "A return to first principles in a republic is sometimes caused by the simple virtues of one man. His good example has such an influence that the good men strive to imitate him, and the wicked are ashamed to lead a life so contrary to his example." - Niccolo Machiavelli
