Message | This is a reasonable proposal, however, we feel that syndicates and co-operatives should have the freedom to establish their own 'private' pensions as well, for that reason we'll vote against. |

Message | We are motivated primarily by the desire for equality, and feel that any level of private pension coverage can create a level of potential inequality in the system even if individual cooperatives operate their systems on an equitable basis since their scheme may be more or less generous that that of a different cooperative. |

Message | After a members poll including all the organisations under the A-HS umbrella; we must yield to support this Bill. |

Message | "since their scheme may be more or less generous that that of a different cooperative." "Private" Pension systems are set up by the cooperatives and would come out of the cooperatives profits and employee wages. So, the coops that decide to increase their pension would necessarily decrease their current wages. So the only differences between the coops would not be in overall lifetime income (per se), but in when the income is realized, whether more is distributed now and less to the pension, or decidedly more toward the pension in lieu of an increased wage now.... As always it would be decided democratically by the employees, and we support that. |

Message | Although both sides have reasonable arguments, on balance CCC will take the egalitarian position. Pensions should go to each according to her or his need, not because of having worked for a particular organization. |

Message | To note: The existence of a supplementary private pension does not remove the universal public pension, which every person will receive. |
