Description[?]:
The Popular Party propose to adjust the government's income tax policy to better address the economic situation of the The Republic of Dranland. Although the Popular Party do not support a flat tax as we believe that the richer members of society should pay more tax than the poorest, we also believe that the affluent should not be punished for their success. We also do not support tax policies which are bases on political populism rather than economic sense. As the top rate of tax does little more than punish the rich and raises a minuscule amount of money, we propose to remove it. Julie Smith Popukar Party Finance Spokeswoman |

Message | We are in favor of amending the tax system as proposed by Mrs. Smith, but still believe the ultimate goal should be a flat tax of 10% for all brackets of income including businesses. We will nevertheless support this bill as a transitional solution. Marina LeCoultre (GNP) Minister of Finance |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
