Message | The CDU will support this bill, although we think we could go much further down this path |
Date | 20:57:16, September 13, 2012 CET | From | Agrarian Party of Mordusia | To | Debating the Income tax proposal of May 3364 |
Message | We believe this is an honest proposal. Concerning the comment of our CDU colleagues, we do not understand how we can go "much further" as the Mordusian government is already a minimal government in the minimalist sense of the word. |
Date | 01:19:51, September 14, 2012 CET | From | Conservative Democratic Union | To | Debating the Income tax proposal of May 3364 |
Message | The combination of this income tax proposal, which gives the state 567,700,000,000 MRD, and the luxury tax, bringing in 85,923,917,318 MRD, generates a total state income of 653,623,917,318 MRD. The new budgets proposal of the FP spends 621,500,000,000 MRD, resulting in a surplus of 32,123,917,318 MRD. This is money we (as government) take from the people, but we do nothing with it. So a tax cut of 2% is nice, but we could do better for the people. That's what the CDU means by "we could go much further down this path". And maybe our two parties' idea about what is a minimal state differ. |

Message | The 32B isn't just a surplus. Government surpluses are reinvested. It's not a piggybank. As to the minimal state : the Mordusian government makes up about 15-20% of GDP normally. We think this represents everything those in favor of a night-watchman state stand for. |

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play. |
