Message | The Constitutional Monarchy system is one that has many advantages- foremost of which being that it allows for 'loyal dissent'- that is, one can criticise the government without actually criticising the state, because the person embodying the state (the symbolic Monarch) has little or nothing to do with the operation of the state. Also, there is always a person that other nations can see as Gaduridos, regardless of what crazy person has been installed into the office of Head of Government. This gives a certain consistency for the purposes of our image in the eyes of other nations, and the cost is not exhorbitant. A constitutional Monarchy is useful for the purposes of giving our people a symbol, much like a flag that they can look up to. We needn't allow this to simply become a joke like some other royal families (OOC: i.e. RL British Royal Family)- this can always be a more morally powerful position- one protected from foolish slander and gossip by our own laws. Besides, lacking hundreds of years of inbreeding, there is actually potential for intelligent Emperors, who really can offer our nation a true moral leader to whom we can look. I implore the nationalist party to reconsider. |

Message | A true moral leader worthy of being looked up to should have power. Wasting such potential is surely unwise. Criticism for the government should never need to take place via a third party, nor should it require a scapegoat. Our politicians should be held directly responsible for their actions in every case, as should our state and our people. In many recent matters we have found ourselves in agreeance with the PIP and while it is unfortunate that we disagree on this matter, it does not lessen our respect for your party. |
