Message | As we support devolution we couldn't agree on this bill. |
Date | 21:27:19, December 09, 2005 CET | From | Country Labor Party | To | Debating the Universities Bill |
Message | The FP offers no other reason for approving this proposal and the billions it would cost than that it would "promote Higher Education in Mordusia". Our believe our existing universities are both adequate and competent. And we still do not believe it is the function of the national government to operate a set of national universities. |
Date | 21:40:21, December 09, 2005 CET | From | Country Labor Party | To | Debating the Universities Bill |
Message | We would also note that this proposal was one of the non-negotiable demands of the Communists leading up to the 2153 election. |
Date | 22:26:50, December 09, 2005 CET | From | Left Socialist Party | To | Debating the Universities Bill |
Message | We agree, but think that also colleges and vocational schools should be installed. However, we can live with this proposal as a (temporary) compromise. one remark to the CLP: we do not prefer to be called "Communists". This word has a very negative connotation, with references to a political authoritarian system called "Stalinism", even tough scientificaly speaking Communism neither Socialism has anything to do with authoritaritarism. The LSP believes in a democratic control of the workers over industry and government, as you can read in our party description. We have proved with our legislative work of NEVER putting forward authoritarian demands. If you think we do, you should put forward wich one... If not, stop creating a negative political climate in this assembly by insulting other democratic parties... |

Message | As proponents of a national, united, government that promotes the good of the nation. This bill promotes the good of the nation. We thank the LSP for their support and we would be willing to support the new proposal if other parties are willing to join the Feds in adding vocational schools to the list. |

Message | The statement "This bill promotes the good of the nation" hardly justifies spending billions to set up a parallel system of addition universities. |
