Message | Why not forbid nuclear power? - it might cause a nationwide catastrophe and we cannot allow it! Why not subsidise renewable energy? - we owe our children this, we must help our companies to expand and invest in renewable energy research. I do not see why we should not have a nation fire department, a national firedepartment ensures all citizens security when it comes to fire threats. But I do agree on article 4, that I could votes yes to, but never will the Radical Left vote yes to the other articles. |

Message | Why not forbid nuclear power? Because despite all the scare tactics used by the opponents, more die each year mining coal and drilling for oil and gas than have died in the entire nuclear power industry. It is safe, it is clean, and it is economical; albeit with a large start up cost. If the market wishes to support the long term payback, it should be allowed to do so. Why not subsidize renewable energy? See my answer above; if the market finds it a profitable course to take, it will do so without intervention from the government. Otherwise, we will be forcing the consumers, both present and our children, to pay a higher price for energy than necessary. The national fire department question is simply one of the AM RLP's central positions, that all government actions should be at the lowest level of government possible so that the people affected can have the most local control. |
