Message | The GWU believes this to be a logical proposition as a marriage in which one of the partners is adultrous or abusive could be unhealthy for the victim. |

Message | We agree. OOC: We believe that this is a new addition to the game, or this would have been changed sooner. |

Message | Divorce is a bad thing, children from broken homes come out worse in every aspect of life. It is better to have two adulterous parents who remain married than to have them seperate, for the children of that marriage. |

Message | Unfortunately for you your research is incorrect. Many upstanding members of society come from broken homes and I personally have many close friends who come from divorced familys. OOC: I really do have plenty of friends with divorced parents and they dont seem to mind at all. |

Message | It is only damaging to the psyche if matriarchal and patriarchal figures are not present. The child does not need a "father" or a "mother". This even, is a matter of psychological philosophy. I'm using the Jungians here. |

Message | Yeah, so the USF is against gay adoption after all. And to the GWUA, yes some outsatnding memebrs of the community do come from broken homes, but is that representative? No, it clearly isn't. If you were to break down categories such as education, pay, drug abuse, criminal activity etc, children from broken homes come out worse in every area. I am not saying that every single child from a broken home comes out worse, thats would be silly, but generally I think the research would suggest I am not wrong. ooc: I am from a broken home, I have done very well at school too, however I am not representative of the thousands, if not millions, of other children in the UK from broken homes. Yo say my research is incorrect, but your research is based purely upon your contacts. Any poltiical leader will tell you that children from broken homes have a worse chance than children from strongly married homes. |

Message | OOC: I also come from a broken home and I am glad that my mother devorced my father because I think that he was mentally abusive to all of us. I really don't feel like any of my problems stimm from the fact that I have went through four devorces -two from my mother and two from my father. It probably wouldn't be so bad if the parents were aldalturious but in an abusive situation it would be very bad for the children and the other parent. |
