MessageCobura is already a land of equal opportunity. This bill threatens to further separate the races living in our nation.
Imagine two boys. One boy already hates the other for unimportant reasons.
Now imagine that their mother loved the hated boy even more and gave him all the nice things.
How would the first boy feel? REALLY hateful. Mabye even violent hate.

What we should be doing is drawing our people closer together, not seperate them.

MessageNo-one is arguing that this should be a permanent measure, but it has to be in place temporarily to do a large part of evening out racial standing. We need to put it in place, then soon we can be in a position to remove it.

MessageForgive me if I am not seeing your point, but this does not seem to even out racial standing in the least.Giving minorities advantages only
encourages the seperation of different races in Coburan society, even if it is temporary.

MessageIt doesn't give minorities advantages it compensates for their disadvantages.

Message
Perhaps instead of compensating for their disadvantages we should work to remove them.

MessageCan you clarify, please? Would you like to remove the disadvantages of minorities or remove minorities?

MessageI think it's pretty clear he means the former. But this bill will remove those disadvantages.

MessageI agree with the SDP. If we were to compare this to a foot race, women and minorities are currently well behind the starting line. This bill does not give them an advantage by simply having them start ahead of everyone else; it merely places them at the starting line with everyone else. This does not guarantee that women and minorities will finish first. It does not bar anyone else from finishing first. It only levels the playing field.

MessageYes,I mean the former.
.
What I'm saying is,why don't we try putting them at the starting line without having to balance out any disadvantages. We shouldn't have to resort to positive discrimination to help the minorities,we should promote tolerance.
This also has the side effect of possibly making people who already hated minorities turn violent,at least how I see it.

MessageI'm all ears about what your way to level the playing field without positive discrimination is. But if you don't have one, then I think you'll have to accept this as the best solution.

MessageYes,it seems building tolerance isn't easy.
I will think about this and will find my position on it.

I will try to find a better solution, however.
