Details

Submitted by[?]: Demokratychna Delic Partija

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 3424

Description[?]:

The private industry time and time again has proven to be extremely more affective than any government control or action. It is time for us to move forward and get the ever-expanding and easily corrupted hand of government out of our lives and out of our pockets. Lobbyist constantly pry and pry to get legislation passed to increase their pockets by adding a new service or product and its cost to the public expense. Pharmaceutical drugs are not made for the benefit of the people on a regular basis medicine is found to cause numerous negative health effects within years of its introduction leaving the drug companies rich and the people in need of more drugs, Natural medicine has always proven safer, we shouldnt support companies in the name of the people, healthcare and even livelihood are already paid by the government for those in need.

MessageWe believe that this will benefit the nation if it remained under government control/subsidy. Not only for economic reason but for equality and environmental decisions.

MessageThe government does not subsidize research and development of prescription drugs but regulates their prices IS THE ONLY STAND WE AGREE TO.

Article 3 is pseudo-Libertarian rubbish. We're only subsidizing medicines for people on low incomes, blatant political opportunism on the Whig's part.

While the NC supports federalism and power to the local governments, whales are an endangered species, and it's not feasible to give options to local governments concerning that. (They don't know and they don't care about what's good for them or others)

MessageFinally weve heard them say it, that old elitist attitude is still alive and well amongst the statist "they dont know and theyt dont care about whats good for them or others" right from the mouth of the interior minister. So let me make sure I fully understand the NC's position, your party doesnt believe the people are knowledgable enough to decide what is good for them, you do believe however that you and the other people in your party are somehow better people than the people within the regions, you believe that you somehow are more equipped than they are to make sound judgement?

MessageAs premier I am quite upset at the way the NC's comment came out and I do hope that isn't how it was meant, as the Whigs elaborated. I honestly believe that the local governments would be more knowledgable then we ourselves. I will admit that I don't know the first thing about what would be best for these whales. But I bet you there's a governor who's father, perhaps, was a whaler or biologist and knows through handed down knowledge what is best. I always believed the locals had a better idea of what's better for them than we ourselves do. Let us give some semblance of liberty back to our peoples elected officials, not take away from them.

MessageLocal governments essentially wish to compete with each other. The least developed the regions won't place any emphasis on ecological protection, not because they're selfish but because they can't.

If the federal government takes care of that, the local governments might be able to focus on more pressing matters under their own purview.

The Hon. Premier's preposition that there might be some relative of another relative is just, well a preposition which might or might not influence local decisions.

The NC truly believes in federalism and devolution of power to the local governments. In late 3460s, our Founder-President and current Deltarian President Dr. George, presented a constitutional resolution which made sure that certain subjects were completely under local government review and the Federal Government wouldn't interfere with them. However, the Whig Party's parent institution and mentor party, the DCF mooted the proposal.

Fine
let's say we agree to the whaling article, how can the Hon. Former Premier Poteat justify
"The government does not subsidise the cost of pharmaceutical drugs at all."
not even for people on low incomes?

The Hon. Former Premier begins this bill by saying that private industry is better tha govt, and in the next line sayas that corporate lobbyists influence govt. There's one word for this:
Pseudo-Libertarianism

MessageThe two statements fit perfectly in Libertarianism, private industry is better than government, and corporate lobbyist influencing the government tends to be insidious influence. Just because we believe in a free market doesnt mean we think the market should run the government, we believe the two are completely seperate. Minister Mathias you asked how can we justify not subsidizing the cost of pharmaceuticals at all; well I'll tell you how. The fact that the question is even asked shows how much power and influence the Pharmaceutical Lobbys have here in the capitol, It has not always been that large drug companies hold the nations health in a stranglehold, drugs from these companies are more often harmful than helpful so we do not believe in wrongfully placing their products on a pedastool when they offer no long term health benefits for our people

MessageCentral government has a duty to invest in the future of its peoples, privatization leads to higher poverty, higher crime, lower educational standards and lower living standards. This is a fact, we are seeing it everywhere.
