MessageMadam Speaker, we acknowledge the need to regulate the use of GM crops and the need to pay very careful attention to what is going on. We also support the compulsory labelling of GM foods. However, we do not want to be dragged into an anti-science position of complete opposition to GM techniques.

MessageMadam Speaker, and what exactly does Mr Kyffin believe would serve as an incentive for GM research if its products are barred from entering the marketplace anyway? The notion put forward by the Greens is broadly illogical.
