Message | We agree. Government shouldn't force citizens to stay in couple if they don't want to. |

Message | We agree with the first article, but not the second. We prefer continuing to let the regional governments set their own standards. |

Message | We support and in reply to the CLP: we see no need for there to be any other law other than both partners being allowed to initiate divorce so wonder why this should be de-volved? Surely both partners should be insure and equal right to start a divorce? |

Message | Disagree. Marriage is a sacred institution that must be preserved. If people cannot disolve it when they see fit, then they will be more careful getting into it in the first place. |

Message | We appreciate the PUF's point, up to a certain limit, and have changed our position. While we would not condemn any citizen to remain in an abusive relationship, we do think it is important to impress upon our citizens the importance of what they are committing to, and we feel that the proposed standard is too easy in that regard. After looking at the other options, for the first article we would support instead "Divorces are only legal with grounded cause. (such as adultery, or violence)". For the second article -- as a general rule, we prefer to leave decisions at the closest appropriate level. Since citizens go to the regional government to marry and divorce, we would leave it to the regional governments to manage the process and decide what standards they prefer. |
