Message | IC: The PS would be open to supporting article 2. We have no position on Article 3. The bulk of the PS's objections to this bill stem from the only actual constitutional amendment in this act, that the head of government and head of state are two separate offices. The PS, with the help of the CSP had passed a new constitution outlining a new presidential republican system, in which the president would head both the cabinet and propose it. The PS believes a cabinet elected directly elected by the people with the standard of confidence in the National Assembly is by far the BEST system of governance. OOC: I'd like to also make the point that if your desire to change the system comes from the fact that your party has won a large majority but not the head of state, it goes both ways. In the future you could win perhaps both a majority and the head of state, or lose your majority but gain the head of state. It's simply a system to make this game more interesting. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols. |
