Bill: Agricultural amendments 2155 # 1

Details

Submitted by[?]: Redneck Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2157

Description[?]:

We in the Redneck party would like to introduce to you, three new proposals that we feel would be beneficial to The United Tribes of Tukarali. Each of these proposals affects a different sector of our agricultural territory and because of length reasons.

1. The fist law we would like to amend is concerning the governmental policy concerning the use of pesticides. Currently the law allows for the local governments to decide wheter or not pesticides are used on the crops and what pesticides are legal or not. We proposed that this law be changed to the government approves and regulates agricultural chemical use. We feel that the other choices are not a viable solution in the modern world.

Listed below are our reasons for the rejection of the alternatives.

Local governments may choose to regulate pesticides certification programs (Current)- Local Governments do not have the resources avaiable to them to know the extensive damage that could be caused by using certain types of pesticides.

Chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides are banned- Chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides are a wonderful assest if used properly so there is no need to ban their use but if they are abused they are exteremly hazardous.

Farmers are required to list chemicals used on their crops- Okay, this solution is viable but not as viable as our suggested solution. This would not regulate the use of the chemicals and could allow for damage to fertile land and even worse allow the pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides to get into nearby water supplies and cause diaster to surronding areas and permanet damage.

There is no government oversight or regulation of pesticides- Pesticides need to be regulated because of the potetional damage of abusing them, or possibely just a lack of knowledge on the harm that can be done by a pesticide by a farmer with the best of intenions but a lack of knowledge.

MessageWe have always been in favour of agriculture and we continue to be so. Adn we, at this point, see no reason to oppose the Redneck Party on this issue. And agrees in all they say.

MessageWe shall oppose this bill on the grounds that the government will be getting involved in something that isn't their responsibility. This should stay at the local level.
