| The idea of this act is to allow local government to set up sports clubs. The advantages are many. In deprived areas where a sports club would be unprofitable a publicly funded sports club can keep the youth and unemployed of our nation occupied and away from criminal activity. Sports also promote good health, teamwork and many other positive benefits to society. By publicly funding sports clubs we also promote sporting and athletic excellence amongst people who may have previously been unable to get the training or funding to properly use their talents. |
