Bill: Motion of Censure: Aneurin Abse

Details

Submitted by[?]: Radical Liberal Party of Dranland

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 3460

Description[?]:

As Kojiro Kaneda stated:
'' We have a Finance Minister who would in other nations be locked away from society in a cosy padded cell - a description that may seem harsh but is reflected by his numerous inadequate statements, such as the following:

"(...) he is a cuckoo brained idiot with no real ideas about foreign policy." - Abse about ex-FM Dalgaard.

"(...) this unpatriotic minarchist dwarf of a Prime Minister." - Abse about ex-PM Warwick.

"(...) our PM is proving herself to be the dumb blonde of popular myth." - Abse about ex-PM Warwick.

As long as this government and the parties backing it field candidates such as said repulsive creep of a Finance Minister, they have no right to condemn anyone else for admittedly filthy rhetoric. We will not allow motions of no confidence to be abused as a selective instrument to denounce political opponents rather than a measure of disciplination within Parliament. ''

This cabinets irresponsible approach over cabinet members, is obvious, and those who chose irresponsible members also scare the respected members of cabinet. This has to stop.

MessageMr. Speaker, I respectfully call upon the Finance Minister to reflect on his comments and consider apologising for his moments of over-exuberance. Then, perhaps, we can abandon this motion and focus instead on the much, much more serious matter of how Craig Warwick has grievously insulted the Dranish nation and people.

MessageMr speaker,

None of these things were said in Parliament, only to the press. They have no effect on Mr Abse's execution of his duties as Finance Minister. He did not defame the country like Warwick did and this censure is a move against freedom of speech. Should ministers not make their feelings be known to the press? Describing the Finance minister as a 'repulsive creep in the Parliament should have caught the attention of the Speaker but then old Kyffin is a GP isn't he?

MessageSpeaker Kyffin: I am sorry for missing that comment, Mr.Jung is right, Mr.Kaneda has to apologize or he can consider himself as excused for today.

MessageMr. Speaker, I acknowledge Ban dae Jung's point that Mr. Abse did not make the comments in Parliament and that he is - of course - entitled to exercise freedom of speech. Nevertheless, I continue to believe Mr. Abse would do much to increase respect both for his own standing and the standing of Dranish politics as a whole if he would, in a dignified and generous act of humility, withdraw the comments he made. Our attention needs to be on the motion about Warwick at the moment, and the continuing debate over this motion risks distracting us from that.

For the record, if Mr. Abse withdraws the comments, then Gukmindang will vote against this motion, whereas if he does not withdraw them, then we will abstain.

MessageMr Speaker,
I would like to apologise for the comments I mad about PM Breckinridge 'dumb blonde'... However I will not do that for true comments about Warwick, a narcissist sociopath as ever. I would say I was harsh on Dalgaard and apologise for some of the comments I made about him. I wish to also apologise that Meir Maddocks finally escaped from the mental asylum and burdened Parliament with this useless motion.
