Mr. Speaker, an outrageously large sum of taxpayers' money is being squandered on agricultural subsidies. It is time for Parliament to stand up to the selfish vested agricultural interests in the Green Progressives.

MessageMr Speaker,

we support these cuts unconditionally, however we believe that there are still departments where much more waste has been created by an incompetent government whose only objective is to satisfy the endless greed of their unionized accomplices for unneeded public sector jobs and government-granted privileges.

MessageMr. Speaker, we fully agree with Charles Coventry on the need for a thorough review of the whole of government spending and for deep cuts to be made in a number of departments. Our proposal here is just a small step in the right direction.

MessageMr. Speaker, I take strong exception to Jose Manana's description of this budget as "genocidal". Would he consider withdrawing that accusation? Reducing agricultural subsidies is not murder, it is simply allowing the economy to function more naturally and giving the agricultural sector the opportunity to become more independent.
