Description[?]:

The minister of finance, Jes Bech Mateusiak proposes this bill to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Kongeriket Kazulia.

MessageWe are disgusted that any party would propose cutting health and social welfare spending. This is almost a 15% cut on by far the largest and most important government department and if passed will mean massive job losses, the closure of many hospitals, the firing of doctors and nurses and a slashing of government support for the most vulnerable. De venstregrønne categorically rejects this budget and hopes that the other parties will do likewise.

MessageThese twin bills are certainly long over due. I see the De Venstregronne is concerned about the firing of nurses and doctors and closing of hospitals. I am happy to say that (though I am not the author of the bill) that it would not do so. By cutting this spending we would simply be paying less for peoples healthcare. Before anyone calls this draconian, look at the taxes we are cutting! This will allow the people to pay for themaelves while we continue to offer care to those in need and the poor.

MessageA cut of 20 billion cannot possibly be made up for simply by paying less for healthcare - without firing many doctors and nurses. UaF is clearly deluded.

MessageBy your logic that would mean the 5 billion dollar cuts from military fires generals when in fact it lowers the militaries spending limit. Yes the doctors and hospitals upkeep comes from the healthcare section. But it wont fire doctors. Lets say for a second we have 200,000 doctors in kazulia. Lets say they make 150k each. That means that doctors pay is a total of 30 billion a year. Now some doctors don't work for the public system so we can drop the total to 20 billion. With all cut from health care system, we still have a grand supply to pay for our doctors.

MessageRetsforbundet does not say that it won't be necessary to fire doctors and nurses, but the primary thing that we will do is optimizing the public sector and therefore ensuring a better social and health system.
Retsforbundet would rather hear what De venstregrønne would rather do than here them complaining, come with counter proposals so that we can negotiate instead of not taking responsibility for our nations future.

From De venstregrønne

MessageThe only proposal De venstregrønne has is to leave things as they are and we will never support either cuts to essential services or a less progressive tax system. UaF's logic doesn't make any sense to us - if doctors aren't fired then the cuts will have to come from somewhere else, such as denying people the drugs they need or reducing the number of hospital beds so that sick people can't get treated. We also note that this department doesn't just include healthcare but also the entire social welfare system. Both of these are by far the most costly areas for any government and the sort of cuts proposed here will be utterly devastating for society's most vulnerable.

MessageWell then there is not anything else to discuss, you are "thrown out" of the negotiations, De venstregrønne could have reduced the spending cuts in the health and social budget, but you chose not no and you chose again to be an irresponsible party.

From De venstregrønne

MessageThe people of Kazulia will not accept this criminal budget and we suggest that Retsforbundet withdraws it at once if they want to avoid huge protests throughout the country.

MessageSome might oppose this bill and those people will mainly be De venstregrønne's electorate, but there will also be people who are going to be thrilled about this bill fx. the students and the pacifists. Retsforbundet does however believe that De venstregrønnes electorate will be disappointed over De venstregrønne due to their lack of will to negotiate.

MessageLogisk Synspunkt dislikes a decrease in military spending and an increase in unnecessary sectors, but as this bill lowers overall spending and cuts other services that the government should have no part in; we will vote yes.

MessageWe are glad that you will support this bill, but we do however not think that the science and technology sector is unnecessary, it ensures higher growth in Kazulia.

MessageAs Kazulia has been at peace for quite some time so we approve of the cuts in military spending. We feel that science and technology is better left to the private sector. However we could compromise on a slightly smaller increase? We are cautious of the economic effects of the healthcare cuts but are willing to vote yes regardless.
