Bill: Family values act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Freedom Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 3465

Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker, honourable members of parliament,

The Werin Da does consider no marriage at all preferable to gay marriage, as the later completely destroys the meaning of the term. However, as sensible parties now finally are in the majority in this honourable chamber, we will present a piece of legislation that will restore traditional marriage, recognize it's value in a free society and try to give every child the right to one mother and one father.

MessageMr. Speaker, Kenny Moriapo seems to be implying that the supporters of this Bill wish to somehow break him up or separate him from his male partner. To my knowledge, not a single Member of Parliament has expressed such an intention. This legislation is solely about understanding and honouring marriage for what it has always traditionally been.
