Details

Submitted by[?]: Dranish Conservative Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 3467

Description[?]:

Those who have offended against the law so seriously that they need to be confined in prison should not be allowed to vote whilst they are serving their prison sentence. It is only fair that if you remove yourself from society by breaking its rules then you should not have a say in how the rules of society are made.

MessageMr Speaker,

We support though punishments. However, taking away a citizens right to vote is one punishment too grave. We would be open to discuss the introduction of mild forms of corporal punishment, though.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
