Bill: Where we've failed, we must change...
Details
Submitted by[?]: Hobrazian Peoples Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2158
Description[?]:
We have for several years allowed smoking. This has shown not to be a clever idea. The passive smokers, who inhales tobacco (and its disgusting additives) risk harm from it. The HPP wants to ban smoking, so our streets no longer shall be filled with smoked butts. It is costly to cure cancer, and an unneccesary expense. Let's get back to the days when we all were breathing the clean air of Hobrazia. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy towards smoking.
Old value:: Smoking is legal everywhere, at the discretion of the property owner. However, service/employer property owners that allow smoking must provide a separate non-smoking section.
Current: Smoking regulations are to be determined by local governments.
Proposed: Smoking is prohibited.

Message | We partly support. Sure 'smoking whenever and wherever I want' is a violation of freedom. But it's also a violation of freedom forbidding people to harm themselves. If they want to smoke, they can do it privately. |

Random quote: "Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man gainst his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American...[T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." - Tenche Coxe |
