Description[?]:
This is to slightly revise the former cultural protocols of Mordusia, and slightly diversify the country. The main reason is to include Mordusian Heathenry in the statistics. Character: Mordusia is a Luthorian (English) speaking country, with a Luthorian-esque (English/Anglo-Saxon) culture with a more archaic (Old English and Romano-British) flavour. Its people are predominantly white although a small, mixed-race population also exists. Mordusia is a developed country, being the 4:th richest country in Terra according to statistics. The country also dedicates itself to its founder, 'Mordus' (hence the country's name), a man who unified the country around the year 500. Mordus is still a prominent figure in the country and its culture today. Influences: Mordusia was settled in the third millenia BE, Mordusia was settled by immigrants from the north, of Proto-Luthorian and Kelt origin (See: http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/History_of_Mordusia). Though as a result of being located in South Seleya, means that Romance culture has an influence on the country (from neighbouring Alduria, Kanjor, and Rildanor), especialy in the provinces of Thalasor Superiour and Thalasor Inferior. About 5% of the southern population belongs to the Mordusian Canrillaise minority and even more speak Canrillaise on a daily basis or as their second language. To the north, Duntrekkers, originally from Saridan, have an important cultural influence and speak predominantly Duntrekaans (Afrikaans). The lingua franca, however, is English, though a substantial part of the 'indigenous' Mordusian (English-speaking) people may have Canrillaise (French) or Duntrekker (Dutch) names through intermarriage. German influences might be seen because of immigration history, but are strongly on the decline. Character naming: For ethnic Mordusian characters, English names with an Old English flavour are recommended. Because of a historical open doors policies any 'Western' name might be appropriate though. Characters form minority populations can have French, Dutch, or German names. Cultural origins: with historical links to Luthori (English) and Kelt (Celtic) influences, but 'trapped' between the South-Seleyan monarchist and Canrillaise (French) traditions of Alduria, Rildanor and Kanjor and more northern Duntrekker (Dutch) influences, Mordusia can be considered a diverse country. Religious influences: mainly Hosian (Christian) (74%), with the majority being Bishopal (Episcopalian/Anglican) with a Selucian Patriarchal (Catholic) minority. Minority denonminations also include the Charismics (Pentecostals) and Luthorans (Lutherans). Traditional Mordusian Heathenry (http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Mordusian_Heathenry) is on the rise and acocunts for about 7% of the population. Other religious minorities are the Abadi or Queranzariah (Islam) and Yeudism (Judaism) who together account for about 7% of population, as well as a very small number of Felinists (http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Feline_Homeland_of_Barmenia#Cult_of_the_Sacred_Feline.EF.BB.BF). ETHNICITY 82% Mordusian 8% Aldurian or Canrillaise 5% Duntrekker or Saridani 3% Aldegar 2% Selucian 1% Other RELIGION 74% Hosianism - 36% Mordusian Bishopal Church - 12% Selucian Patriarchal Church - 10% Charismic - 8% Luhoran - 4% Terran Patriarchal Church - 4% Other 7% Mordusian Heathenry 5% Abadism or Queranzariah 2% Yeudism 2% Felinism 2% Other Religious 8% Irreligious |

Message | *1: Even though our Committee for Ecclesiastic Reform has proposed that control and administration of our State Church, the Bishopal Church of Mordusia shall be handed over to the Selucian Patriarchal Church (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=379197), the SPC hasn't responded to that yet, so I will leave that out for the time being. *2: As the term "celtic" is against the game rules, I chose Draddwyr as a replacement, though the ancient Mordusians may as well be related to the "celts" in Cildania. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
Random quote: "Capitalism and communism stand at opposite poles. Their essential difference is this: the communist, seeing the rich man and his fine home, says: 'No man should have so much.' The capitalist, seeing the same thing, says: 'All men should have as much.'" - Phelps Adams |
