MessageMr. Speaker,

We support a general spending reduction. However, we are disappointed that the DCP aren't ready to proportionally cut the huge overspending on Education and Culture, a budget post that should naturally be around a third of what is today.

And no, we will not reverse the tax cuts. The Wern Deg is committed to abolishing the income tax, and will seek to reduce it as much as possible before that is archive. The sales tax on food and clothing could well be increased to 10%, however.

MessageMr. Speaker, in my lifetime I have heard many politicians make many foolish and rash promises...but proposing to abolish income must surely top the list! Just how much do WD plan to slash public spending? And how much will they raise sales and corporation tax?
