Message | Mr Speaker, This Bill is a bizarre concoction. A recipe of 2 parts Workers' Rights mixed with 1 part ripping the social safety net out from under the poorest Rutanians. These ideologies are at complete odds with one another. Free Market Capitalist Libertarianism is diametrically opposed to Trade Unionism. Add that to the odd references to what I assume are people, but whose names are unfamiliar, and the whole Bill is very disconcerting. (OOC: This game is not based on Earth. As far as Rutanians, our parties and our characters are concerned, there is no Adam Smith, Barry Goldwater, Republican Party or Arizona.) All in all, Mr Speaker, the removal of the minimum wage is a line Solidarity is not willing to cross. If he were to re-introduce the Bill without Article 2, he would have our full support. As it stands, we must oppose this Bill. Christian Täuber, Solidarity Spokesperson for Trade and Industry |

Message | This bill says simply that wages should ONLY be determined by a Free Market CONTRACT via collective bargaining. Therefore, there is no need for a minimum wage to be set by government decree b/c the union contract will give workers a livable wage at maybe $15-$20 an hour. |
