These messages have been posted to debate on this bill:
Date | 03:52:07, May 10, 2013 CET | From | Indigoblå Liga | To | Debating the Economic Liberalism |
Message | Article 1: We prefer the current central bank option to preserve a sound national fiscal policy and to supervise and regulate banks. However we are willing to overlook this proposal depending on the other articles. Article 2: We oppose this measure as consumers must be protected from scams and other kinds of deceptive advertising. Article 3: We agree that the energy sector should be privatized but would prefer if the companies remained regulated. Article 4: We support this proposal and would be willing to accept "The government acts as an investor of last resort, by nationalizing failing industries that provide vital goods or services." as well. Article 5: We support this article. Article 6: We are willing to accept privatizing telephone line service. Article 7: We support this article on secondary strikes. Article 8: We support fully privatizing energy generation. Article 9: We oppose privatizing the energy grid as it is inefficient and will be less reliable. Article 10: We are willing to accept contracting highway maintenance and construction. Article 11: We oppose abolishing the national postal service as citizens should be able to communicate and send packages freely at a baseline cost regardless of where they live. Article 12: We can accept a change towards a user-pay system for public transport. Article 13: We support contracting with private corporations to build public works. Article 14: We prefer the current option. A national TOC would free private TOC's from the obligation to provide passenger service alongside freight service as well as providing a basic ability to travel to our citizens. The Indigo League supports some of these bills while opposing others. We thank the KRP for taking the initiative to propose this much needed bill and hope that they will take our recommendations into consideration. Depending on if there are suitable alterations to the bill in accordance to our suggestions, we may either vote yes or abstain. Lukas Magnussen (IL) Industry Spokesperson |
Date | 04:54:29, May 10, 2013 CET | From | Liberal Konservative Partiet | To | Debating the Economic Liberalism |
Message | Mr Speaker, We thank the Spokesperson for Industry of the Indigoblå Liga, and will of course take their suggestions into consideration. I will await comment from the other parties before proposing a vote, and we may consider separating some articles into separate bills. We realise that our change in leadership and policy may take some adjustment for our colleagues, but rest assured we still strongly believe in cooperation and compromise. Jørgen Devold Leader of the KRP |
Date | 20:54:25, May 10, 2013 CET | From | Nye Alliansen | To | Debating the Economic Liberalism |
Message | Mr Speaker Arbeiderpartiet can not support any of the changes which Mr Devold and his party seek to impose upon our people. As such, we shall vote absolutely against. Guro Veierud Leader of Ap |
Date | 03:02:52, May 11, 2013 CET | From | Logisk Synspunkt | To | Debating the Economic Liberalism |
Message | Article 1: Logisk Synspunkt agrees with this measure. Article 2: LS disagrees. The one and only standard should be that no fraud is committed in advertising. Article 3: LS agrees with privatizing the energy sector, but believes that the article will be unable to pass a vote if regulation is completely gone. Article 4: LS would like to go farther, but finds this as a step in the right direction. Article 5: LS agrees with this measure. Article 6: LS believes in the privatization of phone service. Article 7: LS believes that only the workers affected should go on strike, but sees this a step in the right direction. Article 8: LS agrees with privatizing energy. Article 9: LS believes that the power grid can be tied in with security, so it should remain with the government. Article 10: LS supports privatizing construction of highways and other roadways. Article 11: With the advent of the internet, LS finds a nationalized postal service completely unnecessary, especially since the private sector would be willing to fill in the gap the nationalized service will leave. Article 12: LS agrees. Article 13: LS agrees. Article 14: LS believes that there is no such obligation as IL suggests. However, because passenger train rides will most likely be in demand, the free market will make sure to meet that demand with a supply. Margaret Witheral Leader of Logisk Synspunkt |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
