Bill: Civil Relations Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Progress Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 3488
Description[?]:
Monsieur le président, It is obvious, for tax and legal reasons, that we cannot recognise polygamous relations in this country. But it is also clear that it is unacceptable that such relationships, where all involved partners are mutually consenting and equitable partners, continue to be illegal. We propose to decriminalise polygamy by striking it as an offence from the statute books, without passing legislation to explicitly recognise polygamous relationships by law. Avril Reault Outgoing Prime Minister |

Proposal[?] to change The government's policy with respect to polygamy.
