Description[?]:

(1) This bill seeks to create millions of jobs for Rutanians by legalizing the sale of alcoholic beverages across the nation, but from ONLY licensed sales outlets (licenses are distributed by local governments) and purchased only by adults.

(2) Alcohol consumption is completely safe if consumed responsibly, and, besides, people are STILL going to drink even if beverages are illegal by going to the black market (mafia).

(3) This bill further establishes a 5 RUT Federal Alcoholic Consumption Tax to raise revenue for our government.

The C-WFP yields the balance of its time.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Again, I must ask that the "C"WF look hard and long at what they are proposing; they will effectively be raising taxes on most Rutanians. There is no need to levy these taxes on Rutanians, especially the increased sales tax. Rutania can afford to have o 0% sales tax and a 5% tax on luxury goods because of good fiscal policies.

Why doesn't the "C"WF understand that? Why must you raise taxes on good hardworking Rutanians?

Mr. Speaker,

(1) The C-WFP has always and continues to support the ABOLITION of the corporate tax to stay competitive. However, we need to raise revenue.

(2) However, we will consider keeping the sales tax on LUXURY goods at 25% and reducing the sales tax on goods and services to 10%.

Is this supportable???

We yield the balance of our time.

MessageMr Speaker,

Wishing to tax people based on what they need to survive is ridiculous - I'm referring to your proposal to raise the sales tax on non-luxury goods. Therefore, the SR will abstain.
