Bill: Slaytanic Wehrmacht: Undoing A Previous Decision

Details

Submitted by[?]: Slaytanic Wehrmacht

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2161

Description[?]:

As the 100 Seats Parliament does seem to favour big parties very clearly, we had to think about our point there and decided to change our opinion. We propose a parliament consisting of exactly 500 people, 100 from each of the Five Nations.
Because the Five Nations of Lodamun are to be very federal, each Nation has to have the same right to decide about the most important issues in this country. No Nation should have more or less seats than any other. Even though a nation may have more inhabitants, be richer or more diverse than another, this should not influence their representation in the parliament.
How can we be Five Independent Nations, if some nations are more powerful than others?

Messagee A few calculations with our last elections:
Partyname | Voters | Voters % | Seats (at same time also seats %) with our current system | Seats with proposed System | Seats % with proposed system

FR | 10.886.791 | 38,82% | 43 | 190 | 38,00%
SW | 3.778.565 | 13,47% | 15 | 67 | 13,40%
DSP | 3.720.654 | 13,27% | 13 | 69 | 13,80%
CNT | 2.790.012 | 9,95% | 9 | 52 | 10,40%
FG | 2.093.775 | 7,47% | 6 | 36 | 7,20%
FFP | 1.829.678 | 6,52% | 5 | 33 | 6,60%
LM | 1.473.324 | 5,25% | 5 | 27 | 5,40%
LCL | 1.468.542 | 5,24% | 4 | 26 | 5,20%

You see, the new system would be a lot fairer, and all parties has an advantage or disadvantage of less 1% comparing % of parliament to % of voters.

MessageI will never support Article 1.

Perhaps when we are able to have 2 houses, such as the US system, I will consider such a mix. But in a one house legislature, each person should have equal votes.

Thus I will support a reversion to 300 or 200. Im not sure about 500.

MessageWell, ok, we can keep the current settings. I gained seats from it, so i like it.
If you can agree to a compromise, go on, propose it. I, however, will either support this or stick with the old system.

MessageThe old system is agreeable to us, however, we would like to be sure that this election's distortion is not due to some fluke(from the server move, etc.). Thus, we propose to wait one election, then revert to 300 again.

Numbers less than 300 are also fine with us.

MessageAfter the elections, i think 100 is not enough for accurate representation. With 16 seats in golavia, you need at least 5% to have a chance to get seats, anything less, and your votes are gone.

MessageI didn't expect this to have a chance of passing. But now i have to ask lm or fg to reconsider, because the current system is very unfair, compared to the one i proposed.
