Bill: Gun Rights Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Grand National Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 3501

Description[?]:

Mr Speaker,

it is cruel and oppressive to strip the people of their right to defend their homes and family against armed intruders. We must allow competent individuals to acquire guns in order to take action whenever the police fails to turn up, which is not beyond possibility despite the overall excellence of our security forces.

MessageMr. Speaker, encouraging gun proliferation will make Dranland a less safe place to live. Do the capitalists care more about selling guns than saving lives?

MessageMr Speaker,

restricting gun ownership to criminals by banning the legal ownership of firearms by law-abiding citizens is certainly not a policy that promotes personal security for our people. We allow them to drive cars - potentially highly dangerous vehicles - if they prove to being able to handle them, so we shouldn't tell them they're incapable of responsibly handling a gun.

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining.
