Bill: Freedom to drink and smoke act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Freedom Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 3506

Description[?]:

Honourable legislators,

Excessive statist, un-freedomite, elitist laws have seen the role of parents in regulating their child's behaviour taken from them. Some fifteen year olds are better with alcohol than some fifty-five year olds, and it's the parents role, not the governments, to decide when the teen is ready to drink and smoke.

MessageMr. Speaker,

These laws would only spread the corruption of alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs among our youth!

MessageMr. Speaker, this is about the most irresponsible legislation that could be conceived, and further proof that pro-capitalist politicians have no idea how to govern our country. Is the quest for ever-increasing profit so over-riding that even children are to be sacrificed to the ravages of alcoholism and childhood tobacco addiction? We are disgusted.

MessageMr. Speaker, on another matter, it is public knowledge that Jeddite Maelik, the leader of 'The Good', has past connections with the tobacco industry. We would appreciate it, Mr. Speaker, if Mr. Maelik would let us know whether he still retains any personal interest in that industry. The public have a right to know, surely.

MessageMr Speaker,

the DCL crusade against ordinary people's joys is a betrayal of their own electorate. Communism is a puritanical ideology for narrow-minded ascetics, but not for people who want to enjoy success and fun in life. We can, however, not support this piece of legislation as it doesn't include any provision for the protection of minors.

MessageMr. Speaker

It is now evident that honourable Mr. Hammersmith and his party has became a gang of statists and socialists who believe that the state knows better how to protect children than parents. RFR supported similar legalisation in the past, but I guess it has finally completely succumbed to statism-socialism. In any case, I want to thank him for making it clear that we are the only party worthy of calling ourselves libertarian.

As for the question of Mz. Saldanas, yes, I am a small businessman, who have provided thousands of happy smokers with organic, environmentally friendly and truly Draddeg alternatives to the junk of the multinational corporations. And I am proud of this.

MessageMr. Speaker, Jeddite Maelik obviously puts the personal profit he gains from the tobacco trade above protecting Dranish children. Shame on him!
