Bill: Withdrawal from the Mordusian Neutrality Pact

Details

Submitted by[?]: Party of Socialists

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3509

Description[?]:

Mr Speaker,

Recently, I was informed by a delegation from Deltaria that the Federal Republic of Mordusia intends to indirecly participate in a war, by sending war supplies to the Federation of Zardugal - including troops and battleships. The delegation requested that the Keymonite legislature redraw our nation from the Mordusian Neutrality Pact, seeing how the actions of Mordusia are arguably not neutral, and therefore break the conditions of said Pact. Since the PASOC government is pacifist and opposes war, we naturally oppose the actions of Mordusia. However, this treaty was crafted long before any of us were born, and we therefore request advise from the opposition.

Minister of Foreign Affairs

MessageMr Speaker,

As can be seen they have clearly violated the terms and conditions of the treaty. I do recommend that the Council moves swiftly in withdrawing our membership.

MessageMr Speaker,

Since cross-party consensus was the purpouse of this debate and consensus has been reached, our withdrawal from the treaty will be pushed for through a vote in parliament soon.
