Message | Not too happy about it, but that's changeable. If you are really convincing, i might go for it, but this is as far as i will go on this issue |

Message | It means police and security know who you say you are and your age and if you lose it you can still have your passport and drivers licence safe at home. |

Message | so what's wrong with passport and driver's lisence? why do we need to pile on the little cards that are so easy to lose? |

Message | Having an ID card in your wallet next to your bank pass and creditcard is indeed easier than carrying a passport booklet or having a drivers license in you car never in reach. |

Message | OOC or IC? I want to use OOC arguments in a debate, but I don't see how and if they can apply on this world and country. Besides, most nations I know have these silly pinkish or greenish paper booklets that just rot away wherever they are, I don't see how thats getting to the point of debate on this bill. To keep it OOC, in the Netherlands it is now mandatory to carry legal identification; ID-card, Passport, Drivers-license or green-card(I think thats what its called). People can chose whatever they want on them, just take the simples of your options. |

Message | Nah, it seems like just another waste of energy. if it's not mandatory, what's the use? and if you make it mandatory, i will most vehemently oppose. |
Date | 00:50:43, May 13, 2005 CET | From | Social Calvinist Unionist Party | To | Debating the Voluntary ID cards |
Message | We say yay. Even if this is the most basic of ID systems, at least we have one. Who KNOWS what kind of terrorists, thugs, and mafiosos we have roaming our country unmolested? |
