Message | We don't believe the issue of gambling is trivial at all. Gambling is an extremely controversial issue, which should be taken very seriously. While the CPK believes in the regulation of such enterprises, between the two options your Party has proposed, we would support the change, on the basis that at least there is a chance for some area of the gambling industry to undergo regulation - even if it is by the local authorities. |

Message | This would only create loopholes and the like as a result of conflicting policies in different prefectures. |
Date | 11:01:19, December 20, 2005 CET | From | Party of Evil | To | Debating the Sane Planning, Reasonable Future I: Gambling. |
Message | What loopholes? Right now there are no regulations at all, so how could any new legislation create loopholes that don't exist right now? And CPK: gambling has never been a controversial issue in Kundrati since any attempt to regulate it in any way no matter how small has always been blocked by whatever combination of parties had the majority at that time. |

Message | We think you'll find the CPK said it would SUPPORT this bill. There's not need to get so defensive - although we do find it absurd that our Party shouldn't find gambling illegal just because no other Kundrati Party does. |

Message | OOC: Loopholes is maybe the wrong word, inconsistencies is really what I meant. |
Date | 18:30:19, December 20, 2005 CET | From | Party of Evil | To | Debating the Sane Planning, Reasonable Future I: Gambling. |
Message | CPK : apologies, we were merely trying to give some historical perspective on the subject. IP: we propose going from a situation without any regulation whatsoever to one where local governments can impose regulations if they wish. Where are the inconsistencies? |
Date | 20:39:18, December 20, 2005 CET | From | Kundrati Socialist Party | To | Debating the Sane Planning, Reasonable Future I: Gambling. |
Message | Out of interest - as it looks as though the Senate will reject this - would any of the parties opposed to the current bill consider supporting a change to, "Gambling is legal, but only in private homes and casinos with special licences"? |
