Message | Mr Speaker, we do not agree with article 3, since we do not believe that it is right to fund private schools unless it happens via a voucher system allowing parents can choose. The rest of this bill, however, would be an improvement over the status quo considering that full privatization, unfortunately, can currently not be reached due to parliamentary opposition. Message | Mr. Speaker, Why are our students such a favorite target for the RFR and this apparent Hosian party. The current system functions extremely well. Our universities and other higher education institutions are top quality, and those which are public, can be easily attended by qualified students with minimal to no financial hardship. The government is not in debt and we are not financially unstable. What is the purpose of destroying a well functioning system. The parties supportive of these attacks on higher education are more interested in ideological purism than they are interested in doing what is best for the nation. The best option for the nation and for our students is to uphold the current government policies on higher education. Jay Choi KDF Vice-Chair Minister of Science & Technology |

Message | Mr Speaker, we do not comprehend the reasoning behind the claim that full subsidization of tuition combined with a coexistence of private and public universities has any benefits over a full privatization of the education system combined with a self-responsibility-promoting loans scheme to help disadvantaged students. It is not ideological purity what drives our support for private education, but an emphasis on efficiency and fiscal thrift. Takeshi Shimoto MP Member for Elbian RFR Education Spokesman |

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost. |
