Description[?]:
Mr. Speaker, The very existence of public schools are affront to ensuring an equal opportunity for everybody. As long as they exist, public schools will always be second-class institutions for poorer children. The government cannot effectively respond to what the customers of welfare services want as it's institutions ocmpete for the same budget as a wide range of other establishments. The only way to ensure equality and opportunity for all, as well as freedom of choice for all, is by closing down public schools and introducing a voucher system for students, as well as universally subsiding private establishments, so that all students to have a good private education. Message | Mr Speaker, we support this and all the other bills in connection with Mr Marlock's overall reform proposals, however we would prefer the removal of article one from this particular bill, because we believe that parental choice via the vouchers issued by the government will effectively allocate funds to private schools and determine which ones satisfy the needs of their children. We must let the market do its work and eliminate institutions that fail to meet these requirements, giving them funds is counterproductive. Message | Mr Speaker, While we may disagree about that issue, we will still follow Rt. Hon Mr. Shimoto's advice for the sake of compromise. We are glad that the RFR are behind us in all this. Rion Warlock MP The Good Ecclesiastics spokesman Member for Loren |
