Bill: Budget proposal of February 3519
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Progressive Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 3519
Description[?]:
The Democratic Progressive Party propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Republic of Dranland. OOC: Firstly, forgive me for my impertinence, but I think that I can assume that I will soon take up the Finance portfolio, and I think that it's appropriate for us to back-date that to the election, because it's more realistic. Secondly, this is a HUGE increase in spending. Partly, it's because the DPP is a comparatively big spender, but mostly, it's because Dranland's budget is retardedly low. This is, in substantial part, an OOC fiscal re-adjustment. |

Message | OOC: How would that translate into percentages? I'm too lazy to calculate. |

Message | OOC: Well, it's about double what it was before - so 30-something%. |

Message | OOC: I don't get it. This is the second time someone wishes to make Dranland's budget "realistic", but you keep decreasing the education budget even though it should be nearly doubled due to the increase in all other sectors. The average spending in science and technology in the OECD is approximately 3% of GNP, which would mean that Dranland (if we should be realistic) should increase the science and technology budget from the current 21,500,000,000 DRA to 103,350,516,190 DRA. And it is far from all countries, especially the passive or let's pacifist countries that invest almost 15% of the state budget in the defence sector. |

Message | OOC: I will support this proposal, but this must surely be changed in the right direction in the future, so that we can actually get a realistic budget. |
Date | 20:36:09, July 22, 2013 CET | From | Radical Liberal Party of Dranland | To | Debating the Budget proposal of February 3519 |
Message | OOC: I agree with Coala but current levels are proper for readjustment. From now on we can have real fluction levels for budget(%34 is the current one and we should have pass a RP law about the percentage of GDP on government spending How about %18 to %52 of GDP) |

Message | OOC: I of course meant science and technology budget, not education* |
