Hundreds of thousands of youths sit around doing nothing. Message | Mr Speaker, if the Vice President's generalizations were true, then he should perhaps contemplate whether his socialist welfare policies do not contribute to people sitting at home instead of working? And should he not also acknowledge that his rampant anti-business crusade destroys many jobs these people could occupy? Instead of proposing forced labor for the almighty state, he should stop his militant anti-business policies and allow for job creation in the private sector instead of fantasizing about enslaving youngsters to the government. Message | Mr Speaker, I have contemplated the AoL's policies as the Minority Leader suggested and have concluded that they promote full employment and social harmony. It will however take time before they fully kick in and full employment is realised. National civilian service will not be about the government so if youths are to be 'enslaved' by anyone it won't be the Government but rather their local communities who they well serve in a variety of tasks. Kids are too lazy these days and with teachers forbidden to discipline them or teach them anything useful like manual work, it is important that they learn about realities of life in the national civilian service.
