Message | How can the Green Party support Article 5? Article 3 only promotes sectarianism and religious elitism. -- Edwin Fertig, LNP Leader |

Message | The bill goes in the general direction of leaving religion to private elitists, instead of keeping it in the hands of the collective, who we represent when being elected. Edwin Fertig, LNP Leader |

Message | On the whole this bill is a move towards taking the state out of religious affairs which is something that has been accepted in any other countries. Religion should be a private matter, not a state matter. Victor Steele, LFP Leader |

Message | Actually, what other countries try to do is to take religion out of state affairs, which Articles 5 and 6 go against, especially since it won't be the state appointing ministers anymore. What's the point of the religion, that the LNP founded, being an official state religion if the state doesn't appoint the ministers? You're just messing up the religion. You might as well propose a bill to make no official religion at all, unless you intend to change the religion to something else (but stop messing up the one we founded). -- Edwin Fertig, LNP Leader |

Message | While Article 5 could be considered to be religious the key word is 'encouraged', it doesn't make prayers in schools compulsory. Article 6 is a step forward as the current law is that 'membership is mandatory', we support all religions and freedom of religion. Victor Steele, LFP Leader OOC: What is the state religion? I read a few old bills and the Wiki and read that Lodamun's biggest religions are Hosianism and Pantheism. I think this is why Lodamun needs some sort of cultural protocol, or if you don't want to set anything into stone, at least some summary of the ethnic and religious composition of the country. |

Message | Article 6 contradicts Article 1. If Lodamese Nationalism is to remain the official religion, what is the point of removing the state's hand in it? It was founded as a religion to promote the glory of the state. Why not abolish the official religion overall, or propose that the official religion be changed to something else? Why corrupt Lodamese Nationalism? -- Edwin Fertig, LNP Leader ----- OOC: Lodamun's official state religion is Lodamese Nationalism, as stated in a recently passed bill. Reading outdated wiki pages doesn't count as checking what the official state religion is. You read OLD bills, and you read the wiki which hasn't been updated in in-game decades (if not centuries). This bill will mean that the current religion involves prayer (which it doesn't, since it rejects the idea of a "God'). http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=386761 |

Message | OOC: I repeat, for at least the third time: put that bill on the nation page so its easy to find rather than moaning. |

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators. |
