Bill: Mandated Vaccinations

Details

Submitted by[?]: Phillipsian Party of Dranland

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 3525

Description[?]:

We understand that this legislation is a departure from our libertarian streak, but it is for the greater good. All children should be vaccinated, and have equal immunity to the diseases that require vaccination to protect against. It's a shame when a child dies of a preventable disease because of his or her parents' ideology.
-Caroline Ortega, Leader of the Phillipsian Party

MessageMr Speaker,

Mrs Ortega is most likely the sole person to perceive any libertarian streak at all in the big-government agenda she is busily pushing, but we agree that this proposal is in particular a violation of freedom and autonomy of families. The 'greater good' is a bogus term that allows for nullifying individual rights whenever the government deems it necessary, and should not be regarded as a substantial argument in favor of government coercion.
