Bill: Abolition of Pollution Standards

Details

Submitted by[?]: Grand National Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3527

Description[?]:

Mr Speaker,

pollution standards target those branches harshly which could provide vast numbers of additional jobs, particularly manufacturing and heavy industry. We should rely on civil society to confront pollution of private lands where people take issue with it, and stop government-imposed limits to job creation.

MessageMr Speaker,

The BCB agrees with the points raised by Minister Cleaves but we feel that the current regulations are not too imposing on companies and are flexible enough with relatively few regulations. We will have vote against this.
