Bill: De-Regulation and Privatisation Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Popular Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 3533

Description[?]:

The PP believes that in order for businesses to once again start creating jobs and investing in our economy, some unnecessary regulations have to be removed. This bill will build on the proposals already put forward by the RfR.

Although we agree that the state should not be funding the lifestyles of those who choose not to work, we do believe in a limited system of very basic subsistence payments to those who have become unemployed through no fault of their own, while they find new work. This system would only support those who have become unemployed through no fault of their own, and would be immediately removed if a recipient refused a job offer. This is substantially different from the current position, whereby workshy individuals can make a choice not to work, in the knowledge that the taxpayer will pick up the bill for their laziness.

We support 5 out of 6 from this proposal. We are happy to support it. I want to reiterate that our principles pacifism, environmentalism and progressive social values are not arguable and we won't support the GM related bill.
