Ms. Amelia Granger, Prime Minister:

(1) This bill will INFRINGE on the INDIVIDUAL Rutanian People's RELIGIOUS FREEDOM if they choose to associate in a religion that is NOT supported by the so-called "majority" (or MOB-rule).

(2) This bill will indirectly RESULT in a THEOCRATIC government that endorses the GOVERNMENT'S religious preference even if the MAJORITY of the people does NOT agree with the "GOVERNMENT's religion." For example, if the MAJORITY of the PEOPLE are REFORM JEWS, then a ROMAN CATHOLIC Administration can only RECOGNIZE the RCC's schools instead of the JEWISH schools. Such a bill would be potentially ANTI-semitic.

MessageMr. Speaker,

It is pretty clear that recognised religions meant by this bill are the major religions in Terra - Hosianism, Yeudism, Ahmadism, etc. There would be no theocratic despotism in the first place because Rutania is a secular state and is primarily atheist.

Madame Granger,

If Rutania is PRIMARILY Athiest as you suggest, then WHY would they want THEIR government to recognize ANY religion whether it is Hosianism, Ahmadism, Yeudism, or WHATEVER???

"Religious institutions that use GOVERNMENT POWER in support of themselves and FORCE their views on persons of other faiths, or of NO FAITH, undermine ALL our civil rights. Moreover, STATE SUPPORT of an ESTABLISHED RELIGION--[Hosianism, etc.]--tends to make the clergy UNRESPONSIVE to their own people, and leads to CORRUPTION within religion itself. Erecting the 'wall of separation between church and state,' therefore, is absolutely ESSENTIAL in a FREE society.”

MessageMs. Granger,

We don't agree on preferential treatment of 'majority' religions. We believe in taxation on every single religion, but not on some of them.

MessageMr. Speaker,

This bill maintains the freedoms of all followers of true religions. We support this bill and all others that will stamp out the pernicious cults in our midst.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
