MessageMr Speaker,

I wish to note that Justice and Internal Affairs cuts have been eased significantly compared to the emergency budget that was being discussed before. This budget is also not my ultimate goal, once we have a VAT we can be more generous in certain areas such as education spending or tax cuts.

MessageMr Speaker,

Was it not you, Madam Finance minister who was criticising defence and justice ministry cuts in the DD budget proposal no more than a few days ago? "from cuts while more than halving our capacity to deal with criminals and our capacity to defend our borders? If so, you have set the record for flipping your positions. We are not surprised though to see an RFR led assault on security ministries given the events in Santa Sharika. I see your love for trees remains low but hey, at least you maintain love for teachers' unio... um schools and endorse the extra investment made by the AoL government in education.

MessageMr Speaker,

the cuts I have been criticizing where of a much bigger scope than what is proposed here, and I have personally requested our allies to moderate their positions on this issue. Why does Mrs Wigley attack me for preventing higher cuts to departments her party apparently wishes to protect?

Furthermore, we have quite a different idea on how to spend the extra investment the AoL government made in education, namely for funding school vouchers enabling parents to send their kids to a school of their choice in a privatized system. Until we have passed this reform, we want to avoid politicking with the education of our youngest citizens and protect the funds we'll need.

MessageMr Speaker,

The Good are not keen on keeping Education and Culture spending, and firmly believes this sector, together with science and foreign affairs spending, to largely be a wasteful use of tax money that we would gladly cut deep to finance our tax cuts. Yet, as a general scaling back on spending is needed, and we don't object to any of the proposed cuts, we will hope that this is passed for the sake of the nation.
