Bill: PROTECT Rutanians' Food Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Capitalist Working Families

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 3536

Description[?]:

When farmers put ARTIFICIAL and DANGEROUS chemical pesticides in their crops, those chemicals are, unfortunately, absorbed in the food which the people eventually EAT.

However, there are ways for farmers to kill deadly bacteria w/o exposing crops to these dangerous chemical pesticides. For example, these farmers use specially trained INSECTS that they distribute over the crops that "eat" the bacteria and ruin the crops.

The Rutanian Medical Association recommends limiting exposure to pesticides and using safer alternatives:[6] "Particular uncertainty exists regarding the long-term effects of low-dose pesticide exposures."

Mr. Speaker,

WHY would any self-professed "socialist" or PROGRESSIVE vote against this bill???

MessageMr. Speaker,

Without pesticides, our food can contain viruses and insects. Do you like to find a worm inside the apple you're eating?

Most pesticides aren't bad neither with our health nor with the environment, so why ban them?

Mr. Speaker,

In response to Mr. Hopkins criticisms, we must respectfully question did the DU actually READ the text of the bill??? We mean, not to be rude, but we explained that (1) Pesicides are DANGEROUS chemicals that can have NEGATIVE effects on Rutanian health, and

(2) there are OTHER NON-chemical methods that farmers can use to KILL dangerous bacteria and viruses by dispersing SPECIALLY-trained insects all over their crops which eventually "EAT" the viruses/bacteria/smaller insects. We explained this in the intro TEXT of the bill.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I just didn't mention it b/c it's killing plagues with plagues, and the issues can become even worse. Furthermore, these insects would be really expensive for the agricultors that the CWF-P wants to leave w/o subsidises.

And did the CWF-P listen to my reply? We said that GOOD pesticides don't produce any effect in our bodies or our health.

Finally, just wanted to beg the CWF-P to STOP answering our replies BOTH at the Parliament and via mail to our HQ. One method is enough for us to know their opinion.

Minister of Food and Agriculture
