Bill: State Secularism Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Miflega Libralim
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 3541
Description[?]:
The dangers of a theocratic dictatorship are never too far. The rabbis currently hold way too much power and influence over our state which is not even remotely a purely Yeudish state. We ask that Parliament consider declare Beiteynu a secular state in order to promote greater religious harmony and leave politics free of religion and vice versa. Moshe Visner Chairman of ML |

Message | Article 2 is about the daftest proposal I have ever seen. The whole point of Beiteynu is that its the Yeudi homeland, it is absolutely bonkers to try to make it some sort of free-for-all for all for religious groups. There are lots of multicultural nations, we will not be one of them. Yitzhak Rosenfeld, Leader of Hakla'ut VePituah |
Date | 19:51:47, September 02, 2013 CET | From | Brit Yeudish | To | Debating the State Secularism Act |
Message | There is no Yeudi homeland without a recognition of the very special role Yeudism plays in our national life. Yissakhar Levine Leader of Brit Yeudish |

Message | Only 52% of our people are Yeudi (OOC: I hope we will change this soon) so it is ridiculous to pretend that our nation is some sort of homeland for one ethnicity. article 2 simply recognises this simple fact - Beiteynu is already a mulitcultural state.. Moshe Visner Chairman of ML |

Message | We have removed the contentious Article 2. Moshe Visner Chairman of ML |
Date | 11:11:49, September 04, 2013 CET | From | Hakla'ut VePituah | To | Debating the State Secularism Act |
Message | This would still erode Yeudism in the Yeudish homeland. This liberal, secular nonsense has no place in Beiteynu. Yitzhak Rosenfeld, Leader of Hakla'ut VePituah |
